Little Aid has been responsible for obtaining and distributing over £3 million worth of medication to Sri Lanka in the past few months, after the medicine was kindly donated by the Denmark based charity, Medicine Without Borders. Mr. Hans Frederik Dydensborg, Mr. Thomas Buck and Miss Sugi Thiruchelvam from MWB helped make this project successful with their tireless and complete dedication. Little Aid is pleased that Sri Lankan authorities have been aware of our progress and have during this time facilitated Little Aid's other operations in Sri Lanka .

Health Minister Hon. Maithripala Sirisena
Mr Hans Frederik had a face to face meeting with the Health Minister Hon. Maithripala Sirisena met along with the Sri Lankan representative of Little Aid Dr Nimal Kariyawasam on Monday 21st June 10 at the Health Ministry in Colombo. General Secretary of Health Ministry Dr. R. Ruberu and the Director General of Health Ministry Mr. Ajith Mendis were also present. The government agreed to cover expenses for distribution of medicines by Little Aid, and Little Aid will continue to be present at distribution of these medicines to ensure that it is fairly donated. The Health Ministry agreed to sign a Memorandum Of Understanding(MOU) detailing the agreements. Little Aid are glad to have this support to avoid difficulties faced in the past with duty and transportation expenses. Currently, records of medicine that are donated by individual charities are kept separately and there is no way that anyone can make sure all of the medicines are used by the doctors. Working with the government's support will, we hope, ensure that all the medicines that we donate are given to hospitals most at need and used appropriately.
